why they had to make up island?!!?? Gilbert living there makes ZERO sense. and would they decide afterward to stay their whole life on a small distant island?! violet in novel continues to work and gilbet to serve in army. why would they seclude themself on island? this is not romantic, it is pathetic. don't understand why they had to change light novel's plot to create this non-sensical movie. + it is unnecessarily long, with useless flashforwards. i just want to forget this movie existed
