An interesting one. Although I am not a big fan of futuristic cosmic dystopian setting and of concept of each episode, telling its own unique story, distinct from the main plot line (which takes only about five or six episodes), I acknowledge that Cowboy Bebop has quite unusual style and some kind of charm, partially because it is a little bit dated now in 2020 CE. The direction is indeed second to none, I take my hat off (though I don't wear hats). It uses methods, uncommon for Japanese animations and, as some say, more usual for films. Characters are good and memorable, although rather not in my taste, which is a proper characteristic for the whole anime.
I could have rated it 7/10, but thus I would have placed it in the same tier as Fate/stay night, Noragami and Akame ga Kiru, which is not quite the place for CBB. Hence 8/10.

8.5/10 rounded to 8 since I do not really like series' visual style.
