Bakemonogatari is a very original in many senses anime. In terms of graphics this is something quite different from what you've got used to seeing in other anime, which, combined with an uncommon approach to character design, of which I am not particularly fond, although I may not disagree, that it is not cheap at all, it simply does not suit my personal taste, gives you a unique feeling watching this. The narration is very interesting too. The lines of characters are mixed with visual pop-up slides with small bits of Japanese texts on them, containing characters' thoughts, feelings, and quotes, so ideally you need to know some Japanese in order to understand this anime properly. This is also required for getting many of lost-in-translation jokes and wordplays, that are really common in this anime. Speaking of the characters; each one of them isn't just another cliché with the possible minimum of originality, but a unique and memorable personality, which is important, because of the haremish structure of this show. Also in Monogatari series, there are almost no background characters (not secondary characters), that is in its way original and atmospheric, and it is, I guess, convenient in terms of money-saving for Shaft studio. Thus animators do not have to draw a thousand of useless background characters, or, even worse, to render in 3D, which is always awful.
This anime is truly original, so if you want to experience something new, perhaps, you should watch this. And although it is not exactly in my taste, I can't rate it lower than 7.5/10, rounding to 8/10.

As the sequel of Bakemonogatari, Nisemonogatari, in my opinion, hadn't lost any of its originality, an intrinsic part of the whole Monogatari series, which makes it stand above the rest of other anime for me. On the contrary, it has become even better than its predecessor. The narration has got easier for understanding, the amount of pop-up slides, which have clearly made the show a little more difficult to understand, has decreased, but brilliant direction of the show and the eccentric touch on visuals wasn’t lost. Moreover, some scenes have become even more attractive for their peculiarity than before. The whole tendency of the show has shifted more to the ecchi side of things, which by itself isn't bad to me.
In conclusion, another 8/10.

About all the three films. Direction, plot, and visual style are even more eccentric and peculiar. This is, indeed, a rare gem, really unlike anything else. Some may say "This is boring", with that I disagree. Perhaps, this may seem boring to those, who watched this apart from other anime of Monogatari series, or to those, who've read all the existing manga (light novels?) in the series, who know the entire plotline from the beginning to a few dozens of seasons ahead of the TV shows, and for some reason dislike the directing in these anime. But I am not one of them. These films were interesting to me, at least, for I wanted to know the pre-history behind Shinobu and Koyomi Araragi. And I got what I wanted, and quite enjoyed the films. But I must agree that the first film was a little poor on events and had an overextended introduction. Hence: 7/10 for the first film and 8/10 for the second one and the third one.

Well, this episode, or, rather, dialogue sequence, lasts for less than three minutes, so I cannot rate it anyhow. Why is it even considered a distinct special, this is just a scene, added to the blue-ray edition of Monogatari: Second Season, if I remember everything correctly.

At the beginning I completed the first arc of this season, and it was quite tedious. So I thought: there it is! Monogatari has finally got boring to me!‘. Oh hell no, far from that. I shall never get enough of this show. Every time I complete another season, I WANT to stop. Yet on the following day I find myself watching the next one. Please, help me!

The beginning and some other episodes seemed a little boring to me, but the rest was quite good. So 7.5/10 rounded to 8/10.
